Preparation Guides
A little prep makes service faster and more effective. Choose your service below and follow the quick checklist. Questions? Call/Text (781) 628-2120.
General Interior Prep (Ants/Spiders/Occasional Invaders)
- Clear access: Move items 12–18" away from baseboards in kitchens, baths, and utility rooms.
- Countertops: Wipe crumbs and sticky residues; store food and pet bowls during service.
- Entry points: Unlock gates; make sure we can access basements, utility closets, and exterior doors.
- People & pets: Keep everyone out of treated rooms until dry (your tech will advise).
Seeing steady ant trails? Leave a few undisturbed so we can follow them to source areas.
Roach Program Prep
- Kitchen focus: Empty under-sink cabinet; clear counters; pull stove & fridge forward 6–12" if safe.
- Declutter: Reduce cardboard/paper stacks; bag recyclables; take out trash the morning of service.
- Cleaning: Wipe grease around stove/hood. Avoid using sprays before/after—they repel baits.
- Food storage: Seal cereals, pet food, and snacks in hard containers or bags.
After service: don’t use over-the-counter sprays. Expect some activity as baits work—this is normal.
Rodent Service Prep
- Access & safety: Clear 2–3 feet around attic/basement access, water heater, and electrical panels.
- Food sources: Store pet and bird food tightly; tidy up crumbs and open food.
- Sanitation: Bag trash/recycling; reduce clutter where droppings were seen.
- Pets & kids: Keep them away from traps or stations; we’ll place tamper-resistant equipment.
If you’ve found entry holes, point them out—we’ll seal small accessible gaps or recommend next steps.
Bed Bug Program Prep
- Laundry: Bag bedding/clothes from rooms with activity; hot wash & dry; store sealed until after visits.
- Beds & furniture: Pull beds/sofas 6–8" from walls; empty under-bed storage; declutter nightstands.
- Vacuum: Floors/baseboards and furniture seams; dispose of contents outdoors.
- Stay put: Keep items in the room (don’t move to new rooms) so we can treat effectively.
We’ll advise on encasements and interceptors. Do not discard furniture unless your tech recommends it.
Flea Treatment Prep
- Pets: Coordinate with your vet for pet flea medication the same day as service.
- Vacuum: Thoroughly vacuum carpets, rugs, and furniture seams; discard bag/canister outdoors.
- Laundry: Wash pet bedding and frequently used throws on hot; dry on high heat.
- Access: Lift items off floors; clear under furniture where possible.
Expect some fleas to hatch for 7–14 days—vacuum daily to help break the cycle.
Wasp & Hornet Removal Prep
- Keep distance: Do not disturb the nest before we arrive.
- Access: Unlock gates; clear vehicles or furniture under eaves/trees near the nest.
- People & pets: Keep everyone inside during treatment and until we confirm the area is safe.
- Timing: We may schedule early/late for lower activity depending on species/location.
We don’t remove honey bees—ask us for a beekeeper referral.
Mosquito & Tick Prep
- Standing water: Dump water from toys, tarps, plant saucers, buckets, and lids.
- Yard access: Unlock gates; keep pets inside until areas are dry.
- Vegetation: Trim tall grass and thin dense brush along woods/stone walls.
- Events: For parties, schedule 24–48 hours before your event.
We avoid blooms/pollinator zones. Re-entry is typically once foliage is dry.
Termite Inspection (WDI/NPMA-33) Prep
- Access: Clear 2–3 feet around basement walls, sill plates, crawl accesses, and garage perimeters.
- Storage: Move stored items away from foundation where feasible.
- Evidence: Leave any wings, tubes, or damaged wood in place for inspection; take photos if they’re fragile.
- Pets: Secure pets so we can open/close doors safely.
If this is for a real-estate transaction, have the property accessible for the full window.
Termite Treatment Prep
- Perimeter: Pull back mulch/stone 6–12" from foundation where possible; mark sprinkler lines if known.
- Access: Clear stored items from interior slab edges and garage perimeters.
- Driveways/porches: We may drill small holes along slabs; we’ll patch neatly after treatment.
- Pets & people: Keep away from work zones until we say it’s OK to re-enter.
We’ll review your warranty and any follow-up checks after service.
Pantry Pests (Moths/Beetles) Prep
- Inspect & toss: Check grains, nuts, flours, cereals, pet food. Discard infested items outside.
- Seal & store: Move good items into rigid, sealing containers (glass/plastic).
- Clean: Vacuum shelves, seams, and corners; wipe with mild cleaner (no strong scents that repel monitors).
- Keep samples: If unsure, bag a sample for us to ID.
